Oenone fulgida (Savigny in Lamarck, 1818)

Oenone fulgida, also known as The Orange Worm and Clam Worm, is a predatory marine worm that preys on snails, molluscs and clams. Some aquarists report them predating on LPS polyps too. THe Orange Worm is very sensitive to light, and as a result of this are a nocturnal species.

This species occurs in Indo-Pacific, Western and North Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea.Oenone fulgida is a predatory worm,an mollusc eater.

Hallo,
ich hatte diesen Wurm mir mit Lebendgestein in mein Aquarium geschleppt. Nachts habe ich ihn manchmal in den untersten Riffsteinen erblicken können, doch sobald ich mit der Pinzette in seine Nähe kam, war er auch schon blitzschnell wieder verschwunden. Ich hatte das Glück, dass er sich bei mir in einem leeren Schneckenhaus eingenistet hatte und ich ihn somit samt Schneckenhaus entfernen konnte. Die Steinchen, die im Schneckenhauseingang lagen, wurden mit einer Art Sekret aneinandergeklebt.
Wenn sich der Wurm lang gemacht hatte, war er über 15 cm lang!
