Husbandry

Holacanthus isabelita also known as Blue Angel and Blue Queen Angelfish is found in the Western Atlantic. From Bermuda west to Florida and south to various islands in the West Indies.

Holacanthus isabelita is a species with stunning adult colouration and a pretty attractive juvenile phase too. The latter can be distinguished from the similar Queen angelfish H.ciliaris juvenile as the white vertical bands on the body are curved rather than straight

The Blue Angel is a feeder upon live sponges in the wild, will also feed upon small crustaceans, graze upon filamentous algae, and is capable of feeding upon numerous groups of sessile invertebrates, particularly tunicates and bryozoans.

Order: Perciformes
Family: Pomacanthidae
Genus: Holacanthus
