Characters: Colonies are thick, flat, usually horizontal plates up to 2 metres across. Plates are covered with dome-shaped verrucae which are of very uniform size and are uniformly spaced. Verrucae are not aligned as radiating ridges except within 50 millimetres of plate margins. Corallites are small, immersed and crowded between the verrucae.
Colour: Grey.
Habitat: Upper reef slopes and lagoons.
Abundance: Uncommon.
Similar species: Montipora danae , Montipora mactanensis , Montipora verrucosa
