Fungia scruposa
Klunzinger, 1879

Characters: Polyps are circular or oval, up to 240 millimetres diameter, not strongly arched, thick and heavy. Septa are densely packed and often wavy. Tentacular lobes may be present. Costae are very unequal, with simple spines. The undersurface has extensive perforations between costae.

Colour: Usually brown or blue (photographing pink).

Habitat: Reef slopes and lagoons.

Abundance: Uncommon.
