Terebratella sanguinea (Leach, 1814)

The brachiopods are commonly known as Lamp shells.Lamp shells has a dorsal and ventral shell.Their feeding organ are the ciliated lophophores.

Terebratella (Magasella) sanguinea is a New Zealand brachiopod. This species can be found at high densities on vertical wall of the New Zealand Fiords.This species usually lives at depths greater than 18 m.

Shells are reddish pink in colour.
