The height of the shell varies between 2,8-3,9 cm, its diameter between 3,4-4,2 cm. The rather thin shell has a conical shape.Tegula montereyi occurs in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California, USA (the specific epithet refers to Monterey, California).
