Info

Spurilla sargassicola Bergh, 1871

Spurilla sargassicola is a solar-powered nudibtanch. The brown specks in the skin and the branching brown veins through the body wall are adaptations of the gut containing Sargassum brown algae.

Simliar to Spurilla neapolitana, but Spurilla sargassicola lives on Sargassum algae and Spurilla neapolitana is found crawling on hard substrates.

Synonymised names:
Facelina sargassicola Bergh, 1861 (nomen nudum)
