Volvatella vigourouxi (Montrouzier, 1861)

Volvatella have a large, weakly calcified, bulloid-shaped shell. At its posterior end, the shell narrows into a funnel or spout. The foot is relatively short . On the head is a pair of rounded oral lobes and a pair of somewhat flattened, rounded rhinophores.When this species disturbed, it produce a sticky white secretion .

Volvatella slugs feeds on the green algae Caulerpa.

Volvatella vigourouxi: Volvatella vigourouxi was originally described from New Caledonia only from its shell. It s a yellow-orange animal.
