Info

Codium setchellii N.L.Gardner, 1919

Thallus is a dark green spongy cushion 25 cm in diameter, and 15 mm thick. Because the filaments comprising the thallus are narrow, the tips are not visible to the naked eye, and the surface appears smooth.

This green alagae can be found on rock in the very low intertidal or shallow subtidal of semi-exposed and exposed habitats.

Similar to Codium ritterii (Coarse Spongy Cushion).

Synonymised names:
Codium adhaerens var. incrassatum Dellow, 1952 (synonym)
