Info

Hypoplectrodes annulatus (Günther, 1859)

Hypoplectrodes annulatus has a distinctive pattern of black bands on a yellow background, but is rarely seen by divers because of its cryptic lifestyle.
The perch is found in nearshore rocky reefs and is often seen upside down in caves.

Blackbanded sawfish is easily identified by coloration, the fish is yellow with six dark bands on the body and caudal peduncle.
There are several diagonal running dark bands on the head.
