Distribution
Eastern Atlantic: Spain to Morocco including the Mediterranean and Black Sea.

Biology
Adults are found near rocks mainly in eel-grass beds, sometimes in salty lagoons. Often gregarious. Oviparous.

Nest of seaweed built and kept by male with one or more females spawning. Feed on sea urchins, ophiuroids, bivalves, shrimps and crabs.
Rate of growth is slow.
Undergoes sex reversal.

Diese schönen Fische, nur 2 - 3 cm groß (sowie Symphodus ocellatus), habe ich in ein­em kleinen "Pool" in Lanterna, Kroatien, gefangen.

Sie waren gut für den Transport und die Anpassung im Aquari­um geeignet.

Sie können sie bei Raumtemperatur halte­n.

Und füttern - mit jedem Aquarienfutter.

Zuerst dachte ich, dass sie alle die gl­eichen Fische waren, und dann stellte ich fest, dass sie ähn­lich, aber immer noch unterschiedlich wa­ren.
