Rhyssoplax olivacea Spengler, 1797

Rhyssoplax olivaceusis a species of chitons. In the literature it is also called Colorful Chiton or Green Chiton.

The distribution area includes the Mediterranean Sea. The species lives in rock crevices,under rocks and in empty shells. It lives from the intertidal zone down to 40 m depth.

Bei dieser Käfferschnecke ist es recht kompliziert, in vielen Becken hält sie sich nicht an anderen Klappt das wunderbar. Makroalgen und Bryopsis kann sie nicht verwerten sie braucht Mikroalgen die auf der Scheibe wachsen und da habe ich das Gefühl kommt es ganz auf die Art an. Manchmal klappts, manchmal nicht...
Diese Art kann man unter großen Steinen in der Mittelmeer-Brandungszone finden. Wer mal welche sehen will muss einfach im Hüft-tiefem Wasser ein paar Steine umdrehen.
