A.subechinata wächst bei mir langsamer als andere Acanthastreas. Insgesamt scheint mir die Art empfindlicher zu sein.
Mein Acanthastreas füttere ich mit FaunaMarin "Ultra LPS grow + color". Alle anderen Acanthastreas nehmen das Futter sofort auf und schließen sich. Nicht so A.subechinata. Nur die Größe "M" wird aufgenommen und auch das eher zögerlich.

Habe dieses Exemplar vor kurzem im Fachhandel erstanden ! Zweifarbig wie hier im Bild !
Habe sie auf dem Bodengrund alledings im Licht platziert und leichte bis mittlere Strömung ! Bis jetzt scheint es ihr zu gefallen !

Mein subechinata stammt aus Tonga und sieht so ziemlich genau wie die abgebildete (ohne das blaue!) aus. Die einzelnen Polypen sind etwa 1,5 - 2 cm gross und sehr fleischig. Nachts fahren meine subechinata Tentakeln (bis 5 cm in der Strömung) aus aber keine Mesenterialfilamente (im Gegensatz zu brevis). Die Polypen sind mit nicht zu kleinem zu füttern, zu kleines Futter schleimen sie ein. Keine starke Strömung und kein starkes Licht. Vermehrt sich extratentakulär.
