Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Echinophyllia glabra are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Echinophyllia glabra, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Echinophyllia glabra, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Info

Echinophyllia glabra Nemenzo, 1959

It is basically a species that keeps well and is best not established in too bright a light and can be given a medium to strong current.

As always, there should be no direct current, and like almost all large polyp stony corals, they like it when they can catch fine food.
The food has an influence on better growth and coloration. However, the zooxanthellae provide most of their nutrition.
