Coeloseris mayeri
Vaughan, 1918

Characters: Colonies are massive, either rounded or hillocky. Corallites are cerioid, without columellae and with neatly arranged (almost Siderastrea-like) septo-costae. Septo-costae are joined at the top of the walls. Tentacles are extended only at night.

Colour: Pale green, yellow or brown, usually with darker calices.

Habitat: Shallow upper reef slopes and lagoons.

Abundance: Uncommon.

Similar species: Anomastraea irregularis
