Cyerce nigricans was originally described by from the Pacific Islands. Commonly known as Black and Gold Sapsucking Slug this sea slug has a widely distribution in the Indo-West Pacific.
The wonderful Cyerce is often being used in tourist posters and brochures.
Similar is Cyerce nigra.Cyerce nigricans have no striped cerata. It has coloured and banded cerata with spots. In contrast to Cyerce nigra, C.nigricans feed on Chlorodesmis fastigiata (turtle weed).
