(Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux, 1809
A type of brown algae that is often introduced with live rocks. The basic color can vary greatly from a strong brown tone to a light green tone, blue or iridescent green.
Can grow very strongly in good water quality and form dense cushions, and can be removed quite easily with a water hose when changing the water.
Provides excellent hiding places for small crustaceans.
