Dictyota humifusa ist eine recht häufig vorkommende Braunalge, die auf nahezu jedem festen Substrat Halt findet, und sich kriechend über Oberflächen in flachen geschützten Lebensräumen wie z.B. Felspools zieht.

Die Alge ist hellbraun, oft mit leuchtenden, hellen, blauem Schillern.

Die Alge befestigt sich mit einem kurzen Stiel am Substrat, ihre Äste sind gegabelt, die gesamten überlappenden, abgeflachten Wedel sind bis zu 50 mm lang sind.

Aquaristische Haltungsdaten fehlen.
