Info

Parazoanthus atlanticus was found around Curaçao and Bonaire on indeterminate sponges.

This small crustose anemone has a bright yellow, almost orange color in situ

Colonies generally consist of groups of three polyps scattered over the sponge surface, but single polyps and groups of
up to 14 polyps were also observed.
Polyps were solitary or connected by stolons across the sponge surface.

Etymology: The species name "atlanticus" stands as a reference to the wide Atlantic distribution of this species, which is known from the Cape Verde Islands (Eastern Atlantic) and Curaçao and Bonaire in the Caribbean.

Habitat: caves and rock cracks
