Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Acropora halmaherae are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Acropora halmaherae, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Acropora halmaherae, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Very special thanks for the first photo of Acropora mossambica to Dr. Paul Muir from the Queensland Museum of Australia.

Paul worked with the renowned coral researcher and former Principal Scientist, Dr. Carden Wallace for many years at the Museum, assuming responsibility for the large coral collection at MTQ following Dr Wallace’s retirement.
