Info

Lysmata napoleoni lives on hard or mixed rocky-sandy bottoms and is always or apparently associated with the sea anemone Telmatactis cricoides, but this association (symbiosis or similar type of cohabitation) remains unknown. in any case, it is found near the actinie

This shrimp, known only from St. Helena and Ascencion, engages in nocturnal fish cleaning behavior.

Lysmata napoleoni appears to be most closely related to the widely distributed Lysmata seticaudata.

Shrimp size: Post-orbital carapace length (pocl) 5.8cm.

Etymology:
The species is named after Napoléon Bonaparte (1769-1821), probably the most famous inhabitant of St. Helena inhabitant of St. Helena, from his exile on the island in 1815 until his death in 1821
