Info

In the shallow waters south of Madagascar a new species of Lysmata cleaner shrimp (exactly one specimen) was found, the Madagascar cleaner shrimp.
About the biology of this very pretty and colorful shrimp, besides the fact that it is a hermaphrodite, unfortunately not much is known.

Etymology
The new species is named after ‘Malagasy’, the native inhabitants of Madagascar where the specimen
was collected; the term ‘Malagasy’ is English version of the word ‘Malgache’ in French used for both people and their language in Madagascar; used as a noun in apposition.
