Info

Ostorhinchus relativus is only known to inhabit the waters around the Marquesas Islands (the main islands of Nuku Hiva, Ua Pou, and Ua Huka) south of the equator in the Pacific Ocean.
Here, the cardinalfish is frequently encountered, mainly in groups.

The cardinalfish has a pale cream-colored body and three brown to black stripes that run from the mouth/head to the base of the tail fin.
The middle stripe ends at the base of the caudal fin in a black dot.
