Ostorhinchus pselion is known only from the Gulf of Aqaba and the Gulf of Suez and found in reefs in a depth from 10 to 43 meters.

The little and slender fish has four dusky yellow stripes on head separated by blue lines, one stripe continuing as ayellow band on the body.
Ostorhinchus pselion has a peduncular bar.

Synonym: Apogon ceramensis Bleeker, 1852
